TMEC Media Release: CEO Retires

The Tasmanian Minerals and Energy Council wish to advise that CEO, Terry Long, has formally notified his intention to enter retirement in June 2014.

The Board and members of the Tasmanian Minerals and Energy Council wish to acknowledge the fantastic contribution that Terry has made to the industry and Tasmania in his 18 year tenure.

Terry has consistently projected a positive, energetic and professional image in all of his representations of the industry.

The Board is pleased to announce that Jeremy Kouw has been appointed as CEO. Jeremy and Terry will be liaising a transition effective immediately as Terry moves to his planned retirement in July.

Jeremy brings a wealth of experience in the role and the Board are sure that he will be a worthy replacement for Terry.

Jeremy has 29 years experience in minin g, mineral processing and recycling industries in Australia, China and Europe. Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Applied Science - Metallurgy, RMIT (1983). Most recently he was General Manager, Nyrstar Hobart.

The Board and members of the Council sincerely wish Terry and his wife Gillian the very best in his retirement.
